History of the Toowoomba Cruise For Cancer

The Annual Cruise for Cancer (C4C) ride is usually held on the last Sunday in August and is a charity bike ride organised by the Harley Owners Group Toowoomba Chapter and the Rotary Club of Toowoomba City with fund raised going to the Queensland Cancer. The ride is made possible by the members of Harley Owners Groups (H.O.G.®) donating their time and bikes to provide the ride of a lifetime to pillions.

While the members of the Darling Downs Harley Owners Groups (DDHOG) organise the riders and route for the ride each year, the C4C depends on support from other Queensland H.O.G.®groups with riders joining us each year from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and as far afield as Charleville.

The C4C provides the exhilaration of riding pillion on a Harley Davidson. A day of fun, laughter, good company, no cares or worries, and over 100 roaring Harleys!!

When the C4C started in 2002, members of DDHOG purchased commemorative t-shirts & had them embroidered themselves. The lunch and morning tea was provided by wives and other volunteers.

In 2006 Rotary Club of Toowoomba City joined the Darling Downs Harley Owners Group to present the annual Cruise for Cancer ride.

In the years 2006 to 2013 the Cruise has raised over $200,000. All funds raised benefit the Queensland Cancer Fund's vital Cancer Research, Patient Support, and Prevention and Early Detection programs.

Me-N-U catering was also an integral part of the ride from 2004 - 2015 by providing the delicious lunch each year for riders and pillions.
