Darling Downs Harley Owners Group (DDHOG) is 21! The group was founded in 1990 by a group of motorcycling enthusiasts who wanted a group of like-minded people to ride their Harley’s with.

DDHOG now has a membership of over 100, covering a huge area from Goondiwindi to Charleville, down to the Lockyer Valley and Brisbane. Members cover all walks of life; professionals and tradesmen.

There are HOG chapters all over the world with Australia having the 2^nd largest number after the USA.

All HOG chapters are sponsored by a Harley Davidson dealer. In the Darling Downs region, that’s Boyd Yung of Boyd Yung Motorcycles. Boyd has sponsored and supported DDHOG since it began 20 years ago.

Chapter members travel all over the world to attend rallies, with the most recent Australian rally being held in Tasmania and attended by around 3000 people. The rallies are a good excuse to travel nationally and internationally to catch up with other HOG’s. Many enthusiasts ship their bikes overseas for their riding holidays or hire them from local dealers.

This year the chapter is celebrating 20 years of fun, friendship and riding, with a dinner dance, scenic ride and Chapter Games – various activities which test the riders skills and sense of humour.

As well as being essentially a social club, DDHOG has run the Cruise for Cancer for many years together with Suncorp and Rotary. To date, the Cruise has raised many tens of thousands of dollars for the Cancer Council of Queensland. 

DDHOG’s other achievements have included getting numerous grooms to the church on time and ensuring the countless formal students arrive at their functions in style.
